The South African Weightlifting Federation (SAWF) is a drug-tested federation. Affiliating with the SAWF, all athletes, coaches, officials and administrators agree to abide by the World Anti-doping code and the IWF anti-doping rules.

The SAWF requires that all athletes, coaches and athlete support personnel complete the WADA Adel Online Education courses applicable to them. Certificates must be uploaded to member profiles on the portal and kept up to date (valid for a period of 2 years).
